FB4K Omaha Board and Staff
Free Bikes 4 Kidz Omaha is led by a passionate President and engaged Board of Directors and Staff.
Kevin Thompson – President
I got connected with Terry Esau, the founder of FB4K, by chance but I’m so glad our paths crossed.
An organization that refurbishes bikes and gives them out to kids in the community for free is something I am happy to be involved with. I look forward to the impact FB4K will have on Omaha’s youth.
Kara “KJ” Jennings – Operations Director
I grew up around the bicycle community thanks to my dad, who is a bicycle lover. I love casual rides and social rides with my friends. I’m excited to be a part of FB4K because riding around the neighborhood with my friends was such a good memory for me growing up. We spent hours on our bikes during the summer and I want other kids to be able to experience that too!

As a mom and a cyclist, an organization that benefits kids and involves cycling is the best I could hope for! Getting kids on bikes, outdoors, and active is so important.
The enjoyment, freedom and benefit of biking is amazing! FB4K is an incredible organization with a mission that will benefit Omaha’s kids in so many ways.
Kent McNeil – Board Member
I became involved with FB4K because it’s a wonderful opportunity to reach out and help kids in my community.
I love staying active, and being able to provide kids with a great tool for exercise makes this such a meaningful endeavor!
Jim Maaske – Board Member
I’ve always been involved at the local level for many great causes over my life.
FB4K fits right into the things I love: kids and bikes! I look forward to the challenge and the lives we will change through refurbishing and giving out these bikes.

I enjoy all kinds of cycling, especially leisurely road rides, social rides with friends and am always in for a Taco Ride! I’m really excited to be part of FB4K Omaha! Being involved in the community and helping get more people, especially kids, on bikes is important to me personally and is fundamental to the culture of Trek, where I’m a store manager. I love seeing the joy and excitement that a child gets from receiving a bike and being able to ride and explore. Knowing that this organization will provide that opportunity to a large number of kids is why I’m stoked to be involved!

I have been in the bicycle industry for 34 years. I spent 14 years managing local Omaha retailers like The Bike Rack, and then 19 years as an independent rep for brands like Thule, SRAM, Camelbak, GoPro and more. I am now the Midwest Regional Manager for SRAM. I am partners with retailers from Nebraska to Ohio and everything in between!
I’ve helped and supported many events and causes in that time including Earth Day Omaha, Local bicycle races and rides, and a gazillion bike rodeos to make sure our Omaha children are safe when out on their bicycles!
